The Empire edition published the first frame of the upcoming animated feature film «How to Train Your Dragon».

In the picture you can see the main character — young Hiccup, played by Mason Thames.

Director Dean DeBlois, who created all three cartoons and the first — together with Chris Sanders, said that the dragon in the new film will be extremely detailed.

«We have raised the stakes significantly — now the audience will see a photorealistic dragon trying to kill the protagonist», — the director shared, recalling the scene where Hiccup has to pretend to fight Toothless in front of the Burke residents.

«Hiccup represents all the unconventional personalities that are many among us. Mason was 15 years old at the time of casting, and his certain awkwardness and vulnerability were perfect for the role,» the director said.

Other actors to appear in the film include Nico Parker («The Last of Us»), Gerard Butler («300 Spartans», «The Fall of Olympus») and Nick Frost («A Zombie Called Sean»).

The film adaptation of «How to Train Your Dragon» is set to premiere on June 13, 2025.
