Get ready to return to Blackwood Mountain next spring. The movie Until Dawn appear in theaters on April 25, 2025.
Production of the film began shortly after announcement of Sony in January this year about plans to adapt the game. Director David F. Sandberg reported on his Instagram that the filming process has already been completed.
Sony hasn’t revealed many plot details of Until Dawn yet, except that it is inspired by the game. The original game is essentially an interactive horror game where the life or death of eight scared teenagers depends on the player’s decisions. It will be interesting to see whether this concept will be reflected in the movie. As a reminder, Ballistic Moon studio recently has released a remake of an original game by Supermassive Games.
Pros information According to IGN, the movie will be rated R and will be a «terrifying love letter to the horror genre». The film stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-Young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Odesa A’zion, Maya Mitchell, and Peter Stormare, who reprises his role as Dr. Hill from the game.
David F. Sandberg, known for his work on «Don’t Turn Off the Lights» and «Anabelle: Rise of the», is directing the movie. The screenplay was written by Gary Doberman, who collaborated with Sandberg on «Annabelle: Making of» and contributed to other films in the «Anabelle» franchise, including «It» (2017), «It 2» and «The Nun».
