vivo has introduced a new S20 series of smartphones aimed at the mid-range price segment. The main differences between vivo S20 and S20 Pro are processors, cameras, and battery capacity.
Both S20 models have 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The S20 screen is flat, while the Pro version has rounded edges. Both smartphones are equipped with a 50-megapixel autofocus front camera and an optical fingerprint scanner below the screen.
vivo S20 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, has 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the S20 Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, 12 or 16 GB of RAM, and 256 or 512 GB of storage. The S20 Pro also supports the faster Wi-Fi 7 wireless standard and 5.5G networks in mainland China.
On the back of the S20 is a 50-megapixel main camera (OV50E) with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a vivo Aura Light ring flash.
The S20 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera (IMX921) with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
Another important difference between the two phones is the battery capacity. The S20 has a larger 6500 mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. At the same time, the S20 Pro is limited to a 5500 mAh battery, but has a faster 90W charging. Both smartphones run OriginOS 5 based on Android 15.
vivo S20 is available in Phoenix Feather Gold, Jade dew white, and Pine Smoke Ink colors. Prices start at $317 for the 8/256 GB version. vivo S20 Pro is available in Phoenix Feather Gold, Purple Air and Pine Smoke Ink colors. Prices start at $468 for the 12/256 GB version. Deliveries will begin on December 12.
