What could be Google Pixel Tablet 2: characteristics of the canceled tablet leaked online

Published by Vadym Karpus

Google has most likely canceled the release of the Pixel Tablet 2. First was reported about canceling the release of the Pixel Tablet 3 successor, but later it turned out that the second version of the tablet was still canceled. And now we have information about the characteristics of the Pixel Tablet 2, which tells us what this canceled device could have been like.

Google Pixel Tablet 2 was supposed to have a 10.95-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 550 nits. The processor was supposed to be Tensor G4 (albeit in a slightly simplified version, which will also be in Pixel 9a).

It was planned to release a version with 5G mobile communication support. The Exynos 5400 modem, which is used in Pixel 9 smartphones, was supposed to provide such capabilities. However, the device would not have satellite communications. The 5G version would also have GPS support.

The front camera of the Pixel Tablet 2 was supposed to be upgraded to a 10-megapixel sensor (compared to 8 megapixels in its predecessor), and the main camera was supposed to be 11-megapixel with autofocus, which would be a significant improvement over the 8-megapixel fixed-focus camera in the original Pixel Tablet. Despite using the same front-facing camera as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the tablet would not have supported the face unlock feature.

In addition, the canceled device was rumored to support DisplayPort output with up to 4K resolution. It would have come with a keyboard and stylus designed by Google.

However, all these details no longer matter, as the Pixel Tablet 2 will not be released. Or at least this device will not be released under this name.
