Microsoft recognized, that its latest Windows 11 24H2 update is causing crashes in some Ubisoft video games.
Microsoft confirmed that games may stop responding to commands or display a black screen. The problem affects such projects as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Ubisoft has released a temporary fix for Star Wars Outlaws, but according to Microsoft, certain issues may persist. To secure the Windows update process, the company has blocked the installation of version 24H2 on devices with the listed games.
Microsoft recommends that you do not attempt to manually upgrade to version 24H2 using the Windows 11 Setup Wizard or the Media Creation Tool until the issue is resolved. The company is currently working with Ubisoft to resolve the issue.
