Xiaomi 15 — the new basic flagship of one of the largest smartphone manufacturers with Snapdragon 8 Elite and three Leica 50 MP cameras has been released
Xiaomi 15 retains a compact form factor (152.3 x 71.2 x 8.08 mm, 191 g) with a 6.36″ flat OLED screen that has ultra-narrow symmetrical bezels with a thickness of only 1.38 mm, protected by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass. The display has a resolution of 2670×1200, a variable refresh rate of 1-120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 3200 nits.
The phone has a new top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processorwhich promises a 45% performance boost over previous generations. Xiaomi 15 received a new HyperOS 2.0 shell based on Android.
Xiaomi 15’s camera system, developed in conjunction with, includes three 50 MP Summilux lenses: the main lens with Light Fusion 900 sensor (1/1.3″, f/1.62, optical image stabilization), an ultra-wide-angle lens (Samsung S5KJN1, f/2.2) and a telephoto lens (Samsung S5KJN5, 1/2.75″, f/2.0, OIS) with floating focus and 5x optical zoom. The front panel has a 32 MP OmniVision OV32B40 selfie camera.
Xiaomi 15 is powered by a 5400 mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The smartphone is equipped with a Goodix Technology ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It has a one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum frame with micro-bends that provide a comfortable grip. It is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance.
The regular Xiaomi 15 comes in four colors: Lilac Purple, Light Grass Green, Black, and White. The fifth is the Bright Silver Edition. The price of the phone starts at ~$630 for the 12 GB / 256 GB variant and reaches ~$770 for 16 GB / 1 TB. The Bright Silver Edition model is ~$658. There is a special version with 20 colors for the 16 GB/512 GB configuration (~$700) and two frame colors exclusive to Xiaomi Mall.
Xiaomi 15 Diamond Limited Edition is available for ~$840. It is decorated with crocodile leather and has a real diamond with 57 facets on the side. This device is available in Elephant Gray, Orange, and Glacier White colors.
Pre-orders have already started, with general availability expected in the coming weeks in China. Details of the global release will be announced later.
