Almost immediately after boasting the capabilities of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype, the Chinese company has officially unveiled the production version of its most powerful electric vehicle. It is not much different from the prototype in terms of characteristics, although now they are disclosed in more detail.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a technological showcase designed to demonstrate the company’s capabilities in the automotive sector. The powerful electric car is contrasted with cars such as the Zeekr 001 FR, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Tesla Model S Plaid, and Lucid Air Sapphire.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with three electric motors – two Xiaomi V8s and one Xiaomi V6 – that generate a total of 1,526 hp. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, which is comparable to the capabilities of a hypercar. The electric car can reach a top speed of 350 km/h and completes a quarter-mile (402 meter) sprint in 9.23 seconds.

The electric motors are powered by a 93.7 kWh Qilin 2.0 battery developed by CATL. This advanced battery has a dual-surface cooling system, a special CTB design for increased safety and rigidity, and a 5.2C fast charging capability. Consequently, you can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is based on the design of the standard SU7 sedan, but adds a few sporty touches. The car has a large rear spoiler, a wider body and aggressive bumpers for a distinctive and more aggressive look. These aerodynamic improvements create an additional 265 kg of downforce, keeping the car glued to the road at high speeds. The SU7 Ultra rides on 21-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero 5 tires.

On the interior, Alcantara covers the seats, door cards and other elements, while carbon fiber adorns the door footrests, center tunnel and rearview mirror. Sports seats with yellow seat belts and an Alcantara steering wheel complete the cabin accents.

The price of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in China is 814,900 yuan, which converts to €102,900. This makes the sports electric car significantly cheaper than many of its competitors, even in the Chinese market. Mass production of the SU7 Ultra is scheduled to begin in March 2025, but buyers can already place pre-orders.

Goldman Sachs predicts sales of about 4,000 units in 2025, which is a modest figure for an electric car, but not too bad for a hypercar. However, consumers have a different opinion: in the first 10 minutes after the official presentation of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, 3,680 orders were already placed.
