Marvel has released a new trailer for the movie «Fantastic Four: First Steps», which offers a detailed look at Silver Surfer by Julia Garner.
The new version of the Silver Surfer Shalla-Ball looks just like in the comics and arrives to warn the Fantastic Four about the destruction of the planet by Galactus (Ralph Ineson). The presence of the giant villain can be felt at the end of the trailer, when he is already walking on the Earth.
In previous announcements, Marvel did not show Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) in action, but in the new one, they finally revealed his «elastic abilities». And we’ve actually been confirmed that Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) is pregnant, which is important a hint to the plot of the upcoming «Avengers». In the comics, the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic have two children — Franklin and Valerie Richard, and the former was an important player in «Secret Wars» 2015.
The other two of the four main roles were taken on by Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/The Torchman) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Creature), while the rest of the cast includes Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne and John Malkovich.
The movie «Fantastic Four: The First Steps» marks the first official introduction of characters from the assets of 20th Century Fox, which was acquired by Disney (X-Men included). We shouldn’t expect any other famous Marvel faces to appear, as the action takes place in retro-futuristic Manhattan of the 1960s, where the four seem to be the only superhero team so far. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 25, 2025 (a day earlier in Ukraine).
