You’d think who would want to spend 5 hours watching a video with chairs and the names of the actors who will play in «Avengers: Doomsday»? But it turns out, at least 275 million people.
According to Deadline, the presentation of the cast of the new «Avengers» was larger than any previous Marvel live broadcasts and attracted 275 million viewers; the event was also noticed on social media with over 3 million mentions, and the #AvengersDoomsday tag was ranked first on Twitter/X for over 7 hours.

In fact, such a diverse cast was expected to provoke an influx of memes on social media, where characters such as Laura Palmer from «Twin Peaks», Gollum from «The Lord of the Rings» or the sand worm from «Dune» were attributed to the future «Avengers».

As a reminder, Marvel has planned two new Avengers films at once and, in addition to «Doomsday», will release a direct sequel called «Secret Wars» — both films directed by the Russo brothers («Avengers: Infinity War» and «Avengers: Endgame») based on scripts by MCU veteran Stephen McFeely. Robert Downey Jr. takes on the role of the main villain Dr. Doom, while The new Captain America, Anthony Mackie, will lead a new team of superheroes.
«Doomsday» will debut in theaters on May 1, 2026, and «Secret Wars» will be released a year later on May 7.
