Netflix showed the first shot from the long-awaited action movie «Destruction» (Havoc) with Tom Hardy. The film will be released on the streaming platform in 2025 after four years of production and numerous reshoots.
The film was directed and written by Gareth Evans, known for the cult films «Raid» and «Raid 2». Tom Hardy not only played the lead role but also joined the project as an executive producer.
The film also stars Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, Zelia Mendes-Jones, Jessie Mae Lee, Yeoh Yann Yann, Luis Guzman, and Michelle Waterson.
In the story, a detective tries to save a politician’s son after a drug bust goes wrong. The investigation leads him to a large-scale corruption conspiracy that permeates the entire city.
Principal photography was completed in October 2021. The first round of reshoots took place in 2023, and the second round in early 2024. Additional filming began in July this year. «Schedule problems, strikes, and more schedule problems», — wrote director Evans wrote in his Instagram post.
