
The full specifications of Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro gaming console have been posted online. The next generation PS5 will feature an 8-core Zen 2 processor, a more powerful GPU, and other improvements.
The PS5 Pro specifications were published by a user of the social network X (Twitter) named brunno_fast. He claims that he already has access to the console before its official release.
According to published data, PlayStation 5 Pro will have the following characteristics:
- Processor: 8-core AMD Ryzen Zen 2 with 16 threads
- Graphics processor: unspecified RDNA GPU with 16.7 TFLOPS
- RAM: 16 GB GDDR6 + 2 GB DDR5
- Power supply: 390 W
- Storage: 2 TB SSD drive
Compared to the original PlayStation 5, the new PS5 Pro model has the following improvements:
- Graphics power increased from 10 to 16.7 TFLOPS
- SSD capacity increased from 825 GB to 2 TB
- Added 2 GB of DDR5 RAM
- WiFi support 7
- One USB-A port has been replaced by USB-C
- The maximum power of the power supply has increased from 350 to 390 W
According to Sony, the new hardware will allow PlayStation 5 Pro to render 45% faster than the original PS5. The company also announced the improvement of ray tracing by 2-3 times. In addition, Sony has announced PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) technology, which will increase the resolution and quality of graphics in compatible games.
Also, a Portuguese console repair shop posted a video on YouTube with PS5 Pro disassembly. The internal design of the device resembles the PlayStation 5 Slim model, but has a modified mechanism for attaching the case panels.
PlayStation 5 Pro will go on sale on November 7.
