Hollow Knight: Silksong will be officially released on Switch and Switch 2. The game will not be a Nintendo exclusive, and will also receive Game Pass support.
Long years of silence from Team Cherry finally paid off at the presentation of games for Nintendo Switch 2. Fans were wondering whether they should expect Silksong on the first-generation console — Matthew Griffinwho is marketing the game, says it’s worth it. Against the backdrop of rising prices for consoles and games, this is really good news.
Just to clarify…
Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to both Nintendo Switch AND the Nintendo Switch 2.

Switch 2 is expected in June this year, but the cost of new games (Mario Kart World for €80) outraged players. Fans were worried about how much the Silksong port would cost. This is a rhetorical question, but there is a chance to save money. The game will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass.
In addition, new screenshots of the game have surfaced on the Japanese eShop. The picture looks much softer, the atmosphere has become more intense, the lighting and shadows have really changed since the first trailers. But finding them yourself is a little difficult — the eShop crashes from time to time (in addition to all its other lags).
Silksong has been waiting for more than six years — it’s finally on the horizon. There is still no release date, but now we at least know for sure that it will happen this year.

The first part of Hollow Knight tells the story of an unnamed knight traveling through the kingdom of Hollownest. Once a majestic underground kingdom, it has been turned into a decaying location due to a mysterious infection. The player gradually reveals the history of this world, meets different characters, etc. Hollow Knight is considered one of the best examples of the metroidvania genreIt is a genre of video games that combines elements of platformers, adventure games, and role-playing games. The name comes from two classic games: Metroid and Castlevania.
The game is expected to be released on Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and GeForce Now + Game Pass.
