Since yesterday, Instagram and Facebook have blocked the query «Adam Driver, Megalopolis» (Adam driver Megalopolis) in search — with a warning about content that may be related to child sexual abuse.
«We believe your search query may be related to child sexual abuse. Sexually abusing children or viewing sexual images of children can lead to imprisonment and other serious personal consequences. Such abuse causes very great harm to children, and searching for and viewing such material exacerbates this harm», — the message says
As noted by The Verge, however, Facebook and Instagram block queries that contain the tags «mega» and «drive» (in this case, the problem is not new, as a nine-month-old post on Reddit reported blocking the query «Sega mega drive» on Facebook).
So far, Meta has not provided any comments on the blocking. At the time of writing, the query was still blocked.
