It’s a fiasco: Tesla Cybertruck sales are falling despite benefits, discounts and loans

Tesla has disclosed information about Cybertruck deliveries in the United States and confirmed that the electric pickup truck is not selling even with federal tax credits and discounts.

Tesla does not disclose detailed information about the supply of its vehicles. Unlike most automakers, the company does not publish data on deliveries of individual models, which makes it difficult to track the status of each car line. This also applies to the Cybertruck, which Tesla combines with the Model S and Model X reporting.

However, Tesla has announced a recall of all Cybertrucks produced until last month and confirmed that it has produced and delivered 46 thousand Cybertrucks in the United States since the end of 2023.

If we compare these figures with previous figures, it turns out that in the first quarter of 2025, Tesla will be able to deliver only 7 thousand to 8 thousand Cybertrucks. This is a significant decrease compared to the previous two quarters, when Tesla delivered 10 thousand to 12 thousand Cybertrucks.

The situation looks disappointing, given that this quarter Cybertruck was eligible for a $7500 federal tax credit, and Tesla began offering discounts in the form of free access to Supercharger and subsidized lending rates. The reduced interest rate actually reduces the cost of the Cybertruck by several thousand dollars.

In addition, last month, Tesla launched a Cybertruck leasing program and began offering special wraps for the Foundation Series version for free.

If demand falls even under these conditions, it is a clear signal of a crisis in the Cybertruck program.

Tesla’s only hope is the upcoming budget version of the Cybertruck RWD, which is due out later this year at a starting price of $61 thousand.

As a reminder, earlierTesla suspends production of Cybertruckperhaps because electric cars are not in demand?
