LG shows off the first 6K monitor with Thunderbolt 5 support

LG announced at CES 2025 a new monitor in the UltraFine series. It features a slim display and a base with minimalist design. This is also the first 6K monitor to support Thunderbolt 5. The screen diagonal is 32 inches.

Thanks to Thunderbolt 5 support, the monitor provides data transfer speeds up to 80 Gbps, and with the use of Intel Bandwidth Boost mode—up to 120 Gbps.

The new product is based on the Nano IPS Black panel, which, according to LG, delivers “outstanding color accuracy and high contrast levels”. Speaking in specific numbers, the panel covers 99.5% of the Adobe RGB color gamut and 98% of the DCI-P3 gamut. This makes the monitor an ideal tool for professional work with graphics and video.

Unfortunately, at the time of the announcement, LG did not provide detailed information regarding other important specifications of the monitor, such as the refresh rate. Information about the timing of the new product’s sale and its price is also not reported.

For comparison, the 32-inch 6K Dell UltraSharp monitor, which also uses an IPS Black panel from LG, costs $2479.99. Based on this, it can be assumed that the new LG monitor will be in a similar price range.
