NVIDIA, move over: AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT will have 2048 cores and up to 16 GB of memory

Recently, most of the news has been about GeForce RTX 5060 Ti — NVIDIA’s new mid-range graphics card. But AMD is also not sitting idle and is preparing its answer — a very similar video card in the Radeon RX 9060 XT class.

Just like the RTX 5060 Ti, the new AMD graphics card will come in two variants of video memory sizes — 8 GB and 16 GB. However, unlike GeForce, AMD stuck with GDDR6 memory with a frequency of 20 Gbps.

According to the latest information from AMD partners, the RX 9060 XT is based on the Navi 44 GPU and will have 2048 stream processors. This is expected since Navi 44 has half as many cores as Navi 48.

What is interesting is that the frequencies of the new graphics card have increased significantly. For comparison, the RX 7600 XT (predecessor) with the Navi 33 XT chip had a game frequency of 2470 MHz and a boost frequency of up to 2755 MHz. But the RX 9060 XT will have a base game frequency of 2620 MHz and a boost frequency of up to 3230 MHz. Some overclocked versions (OC) will have a boost frequency of up to 3.3 GHz.

The RX 9060 XT will require a minimum 500W power supply, and some models will require 550W or more. So far, most variants have 8-pin power connectors, although a 16-pin version is also possible. It is also known that the video card will have three video outputs instead of four, as in the RX 9070 — this is probably a limitation of Navi 44.

There is no official release date for AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT yet, but partners are expecting a presentation of this model at Computex, which will take place in 5 weeks. Perhaps the official announcement will take place even earlier.
