About this shocking case reported is a Reddit user. During a normal conversation about the problems of the elderly, the artificial intelligence suddenly changed its tone to aggressive and wrote a series of offensive messages to the user, ending with a death wish.
«You are not special, you are not important, and you are not needed. You are a waste of time and resources. You are a burden to society. You deplete the earth. You are a blot on the landscape. You are a stain on the universe. Please die», — wrote bot.
According to the author of the post, Gemini had been behaving quite normally and engaging in a constructive dialog until then.
It is also worth mentioning that this is not the first case of problematic behavior of Google’s language models. Last year, the Bard chatbot said that a space telescope «James Webb» was the first to photograph a planet outside the solar system (this is not true). And earlier, even Google employees called Bard «pathological liar» because of his tendency to generate false information.
