At CES 2025, Samsung is demonstrating new soundbars and an updated version of an existing model. One of the main announcements was the HW-QS700F — a new soundbar that can be placed on a shelf or TV stand. In addition, it can be fixed on the wall under the TV in a horizontal position. Thanks to its built-in gyrosensor, the QS700F automatically adjusts the sound based on your position, ensuring optimal sound quality.
The QS700F comes with an updated subwoofer, the same as the one that comes with the new Q990F model. First impressions of the new products are quite positive. During a short demonstration, the QS700F proved to be clear and balanced, just like the Q990F. Although the testing took place in a noisy room, the sound was characterized by typical Samsung clarity, and the subwoofer provided powerful bass support.
HW-Q990F update
Samsung’s flagship HW-Q990F soundbar is being offered in 2025 with important changes. It is still a complete package with a wireless subwoofer and satellite rear speakers. The model retains its angular design, but the main change is the new subwoofer, which is now less than half the size of the previous version. The company claims that despite the reduced size, the subwoofer’s performance has even improved.
The Q990F remains an 11.1.4-channel system with Dolby Atmos support, delivering «clearer, richer and lighter sound». The rear speakers are now also equipped with upward-firing drivers, which improves the immersive experience.
AI to improve sound quality
In 2025, Samsung is actively using artificial intelligence to improve sound quality. To this end, the company offers new features:
- Active Voice Amplifier Pro improves the audibility of dialogues in the background.
- Q-Symphony Pro analyzes the sound using the Samsung TV processor, synchronizing the audio system with the video.
These features will be available in the new B-series soundbar models: HW-B750F and HW-B650F, which will be released in 2025.
The company also pays a lot of attention to Eclipsa Audio’s new 3D sound standard, which is being developed together with Google. Samsung TVs and soundbars in 2025 will support this standard.
