The series The Last Of Us is officially back with a second season — yesterday the first episode was broadcast on HBO and Max.
The Last Of Us — is a television adaptation of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic game series of the same name, set in the United States 20 years after the global pandemic caused by a dangerous mutation of the cordyceps fungus.
The first season told the story of a smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal), who was tasked with delivering a teenager with immunity to the infection, Ellie (Bella Ramsay), to the other side of the country for the development of a cure — eventually the man realizes that the girl is going to die and renounces its decision. The second season will continue the story of the traumatic events at the Salt Lake City hospital and will involve the key character in Last of Us Part II, Abby (Caitlin Deaver).
The first episode of the sequel, among other things, introduced a new type of infected from the game, which is so often the showrunners teased in an interview — stalkers, who are more aggressive and intelligent than clickers, runners, or puffers, and able to act in groups, organize ambushes, and wait for the perfect moment to attack.
