Starting December 21st, Twitter rolled out new pricing for its premium subscription for users—apparently to “boost payouts to content creators.”
The cost of Premium Plus now is $22 per month and $229 per year—specifically for Ukrainians (previously $16 and $168 respectively). Prices have gone up all around the world, reaching €21 in European countries like France, Germany, and Spain, 26 Canadian dollars in Canada, 35 Australian dollars in Australia, and 17 British pounds in the UK.

The price increase will be applied immediately for new subscribers, while existing users can enjoy their current rates until January 20th. The price for the basic subscription and regular Premium remains unchanged for now.
This is the biggest price hike since Elon Musk bought Twitter. It might seem like the owner is trying to compensate for the loss in the company’s value or the flight of advertisers, but the official statement from the social network says that subscriptions now “more directly nourish” payouts to creators, to “reward content quality and engagement rather than just views.”
Premium Plus owners will also get access to additional features, such as the X’s Radar trend monitoring tool, and higher usage limits for the Grok AI on the platform.
