In the first 9 months of 2024, Ukraine imported 45,361 battery electric vehicles (BEVs). This data is provided by the State Statistics Service. The total customs value of these vehicles amounted to $989 million.
Out of the total number of passenger electric vehicles imported into Ukraine for the first 3 quarters of this year, 12,619 (27.8%) units were new, while 32,742 (72.2%) were used. Importers spent $334 million on purchasing new electric vehicles. Meanwhile, the customs value of used electric vehicles was $655 million.
Most often, new passenger electric vehicles were imported from China. This country leads by a large margin from all other exporting countries.

1️⃣ CHINA — 11,131 units;
2️⃣ JAPAN — 472 units;
3️⃣ GERMANY — 304 units;
4️⃣ UNITED KINGDOM — 247 units;
5️⃣ BELGIUM — 214 units.
Meanwhile, the USA was the leader in supplying used electric vehicles. The gap from the second place in this segment is less impressive.
