First NVIDIA RTX 5070 benchmarks — 4070 Ti / Super performance

Reviewers have published the first tests of the RTX 5070 FE graphics card, which will be conditionally available tomorrow. This is the second time NVIDIA has positioned the card as accurately as possible relative to the previous generation.

If RTX 5070 Ti could be called 4080 + DLSS 4 and generating additional frames, the RTX 5070’s performance is between the 4070 Super and 4070 Ti, which are not too different — in some games the number of frames per second is closer to one or the other. As a result, it’s a good choice for 2K monitors with 60-100 fps, and in games like The Witcher 3 you can get all 120.

The RTX 5070 consumes about 16 watts in idle mode and between 230 watts and 300 watts in different load scenarios (about 250 watts usually). The minimum recommended power supply for a system with this video card is — 550 W. Testers liked the energy efficiency of the card and its overclocking capabilities (+13%), which is not the case with senior family members in the Founders Edition.

Of the disadvantages of the NVIDIA RTX 5070 TechPowerUp notes the lack of 12 GB of internal memory for 4K with ray tracing, even with frame generation. The relatively small progress in performance compared to its predecessors is also somewhat disappointing. And traditionally, perhaps, you shouldn’t count on the availability of a video card, especially at the recommended price of $549.

Website VideoCardz with reference to Andreas Schilling reports that only 2.5 hours before the launch, NVIDIA informed reviewers that the RTX 5070 Founder Edition will be available later in March, i.e. not at the launch. This delay will affect markets in Germany, the US, and possibly other regions.
