G.Skill has introduced DDR5-6000 memory in CL26-36-36-96 up to 64 GB and CL28-36-36-96 up to 96 GB kits

G.Skill announced DDR5 memory with super tight timings. The G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB, M5 RGB Neo, and Z5 Royal Neo series are now available in DDR5-6000 CL26-36-36-96 configurations in 32 GB and 64 GB kits, and CL28-36-36-96 configurations in 48 GB and 96 GB kits.

According to the manufacturer, the 64 GB (2×32 GB) CL26-36-36-96 configuration is the world’s first DDR5 set of this capacity that comes with such tight timings. G.Skill demonstrated the stability of this set using MemtestPro 4.0 with a Ryzen 9 9900X processor on the Asus Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard. The company also proved the stability of the 96 GB CL-28-36-36-96 configuration with the same components.

G.Skill claims that the new memory kits are designed for gamers and power users and are made for X870E motherboards and Ryzen 9000 series processors. However, there’s nothing stopping Intel platform users from using these kits. But, the kits only support EXPO profiles and do not support Intel XMP. Also, owners of Ryzen 7000 on 800 or 600 series motherboards can use these kits, but they should be careful about system stability.

The price of G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB and other new models is not disclosed, but you can guess they’re likely to be among the priciest on the market. Timings significantly affect the cost of DDR5: DDR5-6000 CL 28 2×16 GB kits range from $120 to $130, while CL30 kits in the same configuration can be purchased for under $80.
