Google Pixel 9a smartphone is expected to be unveiled this year before its predecessor in 2024. Previous rumors indicated the device’s launch around mid-March. Now, a new leak has revealed the exact release date, as well as the date when Google will start taking pre-orders for its next affordable Pixel smartphone.
So, pre-orders for the Google Pixel 9a will allegedly begin on March 19, and the phone will start shipping on March 26, which is when it will also appear in stores.
We should add that a few days ago became known Pixel 9a pricing information. The entry-level model with 128 GB of internal storage will cost $499, the same as the Pixel 8a last year. However, the 256GB version will cost $599, which is $40 more than the Pixel 8a with 256GB storage at launch. It’s also worth adding that the Verizon version with mmWave 5G support will cost $50 more.
According to preliminary data, the Pixel 9a will be equipped with a 6.28-inch OLED screen with a peak brightness of 2700 nits and HDR brightness of 1800 nits. A Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage are also reported. On the back, a 48-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera will be available. The battery will have a capacity of 5100 mAh, the largest ever seen in a Pixel. The smartphone will be offered in four colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony.
