Huawei introduced the flagship Mate 70 series, with the Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ and Mate 70 RS Ultimate at its pinnacle.
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ has a design similar to the regular Mate 70 Pro, but its back panel is styled in Chinese luxury: nylon with brocade fiber and gold threads. However, it seems to look better than it sounds. According to the company, the material is very durable and even absorbs shocks.
The smartphone’s frame is made of a titanium alloy, which Huawei calls “high-luminance basalt structure” (whatever that means). The frame is also very durable, resistant to scratches and drops. The entire Mate 70 line features IP69 protection.
The Mate 70 Pro+ phone has a 6.9” LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2832×1316 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 2500 nits. It is covered with Kunlun Glass. A 3D face scanner is placed at the front, and the fingerprint scanner in the new line has been moved to the side power button.

The main camera of the Mate 70 Pro+ has a 50 MP RYYB sensor with a 24 mm lens featuring a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0. There is also an ultra-wide 13 mm f/2.2 lens with a 40 MP RYYB sensor, a 4x 92.5 mm f/2.1 telephoto lens capable of focusing at close distances with a 48 MP RYYB sensor. All cameras have autofocus. The selfie camera is 13 MP f/2.4.
Huawei does not disclose chip details, unofficial sources claim that the Mate 70 Pro+ features a Kirin 9020 processor. The smartphone is equipped with 16 GB of RAM. The phone has a 5700 mAh battery (200 mAh more than the 70 and 70 Pro models) with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate also has a titanium frame but features a better display and protective glass. The display has the same 6.9″ diagonal, 120 Hz LTPO technology, and FHD+ resolution, but it is a dual-layer OLED reaching a peak brightness of 3500 nits. It is covered with more robust “basalt tempered Kunlun glass”.

The rest of the specifications of the Mate 70 RS match those of the 70 Pro+ – a 5700 mAh battery, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage, a triple rear camera. Both phones run under HarmonyOS 4.3.
Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ is available in four colors: Ink Black, Feather White, Gold and Silver Brocade, and Flying Blue. There are two configurations — 16/512 GB and 16 GB/1 TB. Prices are equivalent to €1120 and €1250. Huawei Mate 70 RS is available in Red, White, and Black and costs €1580 or €1710.
