NVIDIA RTX 5070 will get 12 GB / 192-bit — detailed specifications have been released

The more powerful of the two graphics cards, the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, will feature 16 GB on a 256-bit bus. An insider also shared other key specifications.

Well-known leaker Kopite7kimi revealed the key specs for both graphics cards. The RTX 5070 Ti will sport a GB203-300 GPU with 8960 CUDA cores and 16 GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus. The leak suggests that the card will consume 300 watts, although earlier reports mentioned 350 watts.

The cheaper RTX 5070 will feature interesting yet predictable specs with the GB205-300 chip. The number 300 indicates that it’s a cut-down chip (otherwise NVIDIA would have used the 400 designation). It’s expected to have 6144 CUDA cores and a power consumption of 250 watts. Kopite7kimi confirmed that the RTX 5070 will have 12 GB of GDDR7 memory with a 192-bit bus. Specifically, this indicates that NVIDIA won’t be using new configurations with 3 GB modules and a 160-bit bus. Unfortunately, it’s no more than in the 4070.

It’s currently unclear exactly when the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti will be released. The graphics cards are expected in the first quarter of 2025, with the 5070 Ti likely to debut at CES 2025 — at least according to Zotac. The RTX 5070 will probably launch later (after the RTX 5080, RTX 5090, and RTX 5070 Ti), which explains the sparse data on the graphics card so far. It’s worth noting that NVIDIA often changes specifications right before launch.
