ChatGPT Plus owners received a holiday gift from OpenAI — unlimited access to the Sora video generator.
Sora, officially launched in early December, is an autonomous video generator that creates frames based on user text prompts.
Previously, ChatGPT Plus owners could generate up to 50 priority videos with a resolution of up to 720p and a duration of 5 seconds. While unlimited generations, higher quality and duration were only offered to ChatGPT Pro users for $200 per month.

Importantly, to avoid confusion: credits will still be displayed in your Sora profile, but video generation will be possible even after they are used up.
As noted by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, this opportunity was introduced because there are no long queues in requests during the holidays, and GPUs receive less load. Remember, the unexpected “excess” demand for Sora during its launch forced OpenAI to temporarily disable registration of new users. Currently, there are no such problems and videos are generated in just a few seconds.
