PC Gamer has named the 100 best PC games: Baldur’s Gate 3 is on the first place

The top ten games also include the cult Half-Life 2, the farm simulator Stardew Valley, and the original 1993 Doom.

Every year, PC Gamer’s editorial team goes to great lengths to compile this ranking. The process involves voting, discussions, and even debates between more than 30 editors and writers from around the world. This year, they reviewed 332 games to select the top 100.The game evaluation methodology is based on four key criteria:

1. Quality (60% of the total score): personal assessment of the game as a product.
2. Importance (15%): the game’s impact on other projects and the industry as a whole.
3. Relevance (15%): the ability of the game to maintain an active and enthusiastic community.
4. Playability (10%): accessibility for a modern audience and ease of launch on modern systems.

Baldur’s Gate 3 by Larian Studios took the first place, which was not included in the ranking last year due to its late release. Disco Elysium, which topped the list last year, was in second place. Elden Ring rounded out the top three. The top five also included Minecraft and Persona 5 Royal (by the way, Atlus’ new game, Metaphor: ReFantazio, was very popular with critics).

Among the new releases of 2024, Helldivers 2 (14th place), Animal Well (43rd place), and Ghost of Tsushima (92nd place) appeared in the top 100. Alan Wake 2 (21st place) and Metal Gear Solid 3 (11th place) also entered the ranking.
