Tesla has finally found a use for its Cybertruck, which has been selling poorly: it now carries mobile billboards with the new Model Y electric car.
The launch of the Cybertruck was a failure for Tesla. Despite the initial interest of fans and a large number of pre-orders, the actual car did not meet the expectations of all buyers. For example, we can recall problem with poor fastening of decorative body panels and recall of a car for repair. However, after the repair «by specialists» Tesla the problem has only gotten worse ─ the gaps between the panels have become even larger.
Another disappointment faced by Cybertruck fans is the abolition of the so-called «range extender» (Range Extender), which was supposed to significantly increase the car’s autonomy.
These and other factors have led to the fact that the electric car, which initially had a long queue of pre-orders, is now sells extremely poorly. The Cybertruck has completely failed commercially, with sales reaching only about a fifth of its production capacity.
To get at least some benefit from the Cybertrucks already produced, Tesla decided to use them as a marketing tool. For example, the company brings Cybertrucks to stores in countries where it does not even officially sell this car. In essence, Tesla is using the Cybertruck to attract attention and promote its other models.
Now the company is doing it literally. Tesla is using free Cybertrucks as mobile advertising platforms for its other cars that may still be of interest to electric car enthusiasts – an electric pickup truck pulls a mobile billboard advertising the new Model Y.
People started to notice the Cybertruck carrying the Model Y in a transparent trailer — a kind of «live» advertising. One such example was seen in Temple, Texas.

This design was first seen more than a year ago, but it seemed that Tesla had abandoned the idea — until last weekend it was no longer spotted.
It seems that this time Tesla has used mobile advertising as part of the Cybertruck rally organized by owners — not a bad idea if there are about 2400 unsold cars in the warehouses. Let them work.
