Google Pixel 9 Pro’s camera unit fell off — and it’s not the first time

Google Pixel smartphones are known for their quality cameras and unique design that sets them apart from others. Apparently, the Pixel 9 Pro camera block design is not very reliable.

A Google Pixel 9 Pro user recently shared on Reddit an unpleasant experience—the camera panel separated from the back surface of his phone. The Pixel owner says that the device is only three months old and it was always protected by a case. The post also states that the phone never fell and was not damaged.

This is not the first case—at least one occurred with another Pixel 9 Pro owner back in October. He reported that initially the lenses started to fog up in the shower, and then the camera block began to separate—Google responded to the complaint and quickly issued a replacement.

However, the new case is not so fortunate—Google refused to help since the device had been in the owner’s possession for over 90 days. Thus, the owner faced the necessity of repairing the smartphone at his own expense, a defect which, at first glance, seems to be inherent from the manufacturer and has been observed before.

Google has not yet commented on the problem of the camera block detaching officially. It seems that the company should study the experience, which has been repeated multiple times. Many consider Google Pixel smartphones as premium, and similar defects typically do not occur even in budget models from other manufacturers. However, other, equally unpleasant incidents happen.
