TorrentFreak released its annual list of the most pirated TV shows of 2024.
The second season of “House of the Dragon” topped the chart, replicating the “success” of its first season in 2022, followed by a significant gap by “The Boys” and “Shogun”.
For a long time, “Game of Thrones” was the leader of this ranking, but after its last season, it was overtaken by “WandaVision” in 2020 and “The Mandalorian” in 2022. Last year, HBO reclaimed the top spot with “The Last of Us”, and this year it solidified its hold with “House of the Dragon.”
Interestingly, the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” didn’t even make it into the top 10.
Important note about the ranking — the chart is based on BitTorrent traffic, which represents only a small part of the piracy landscape. Many people stream shows on pirated websites online, and those sites, in turn, do not provide statistics.

Remember, as per Bloomberg, Ukraine is among the top six countries for high levels of consumption of pirated content, and the latest statistics from Similarweb showed that the pirate site UAKino became the third most visited among Ukrainians (with eight pirate sites appearing in the top 50 most popular in Ukraine overall).
Meanwhile, the number of brand-related search queries (when people searched for the name or domain of a pirate site) showed that HDRezka is 4.5 times more popular than Netflix and twice as popular as Megogo.
