One of the most successful games of the last year, Hogwarts Legacy will receive a Definitive Edition with a lot of new content. The game’s preparation is unofficially described by Insider Gaming.
According to insider information, the Update will be released as a separate DLC, which will require the original game, or as a full Definitive Edition. From 10 to 15 hours of new content will include the main story quest, side quests, new activities, and clothing.
The release time and cost of the expansion are still being negotiated. Sources are targeting only 2025, given the financial performance of Warner Bros.: weak sales of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are prompting the company to increase the profitability of games at the expense of a successful title. The leak suggests that it will cost $20-$30.
Hogwarts Legacy was released in early 2023 and as of January 2024 has sold over 24 million copies. The game is still in the top ten of the best-selling games in 2024 in the United States Chief Financial Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery’s chief financial officer Gunnar Wiedenfels saidthat the next Hogwarts Legacy game «is one of the biggest priorities in the next couple of years», which outlined the release window for the new game.
