After the launch of NVIDIA’s RTX 50 graphics cards introduced a number of new features in the latest Game Ready drivers and NVIDIA App 11.0.2.312.
The new software includes settings for instantly changing the model or mode of DLSS Frame Gen, Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, as well as a new Smooth Motion frame generation technology that competes with AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames technology. NVIDIA has also included several updates to the RTX VSR (Video Super Resolution) and HDR — more efficient model that promises to save up to 30% of energy.
NVIDIA has allowed users to update DLSS models in supported games through the Nvidia App. Since the new DLSS only supports 75 games at launch, users can try third-party apps if a game is not listed. The DLSS Override setting has Preset Model, Frame Generation, and Super Resolution options.

The «Frame Generation» subsection is exclusive to RTX 50 series GPUs, allowing you to select either 3x or 4x settings for supported games. The Super Resolution option allows you to enable DLAA or DLSS Ultra Performance mode at the driver level, as some games do not integrate these settings.
A new feature is NVIDIA Smooth Motion, described as a driver-level artificial intelligence model that offers a smoother gaming experience by creating an additional frame between two already rendered frames, similar to AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF). This option will be available for all DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 games, even those that don’t support DLSS at all.
Interestingly, some of the updated features can work even on graphics cards up to the RTX 20 generation. In particular, this is the new economical RTX VSR.
