Red Dead Redemption looks better on PC — YouTuber compares the game to the PS5 version

The traditional argument «PC has better graphics» seems to work with Red Dead Redemption. The YouTuber compared the PC and PS5 versions of the game.

Red Dead Redemption for PC was officially announced recently. The release scheduled for October 29but fans don’t seem to be too happy with the price of $50 for a 14-year-old game. However, early experience shows that the game has been improved.

YouTuber Cycu1 posted a video comparing the visual differences between the PC and PS5 versions of the Red Dead Redemption remaster. It seems that the PC version has a slight advantage, mainly due to changes in lighting.

The differences aren’t that striking or fabulous, but the lighting makes the picture seem more lively and three-dimensional, and the transitions between light and shadow are more natural. You can also see changes in models and textures in some scenes. There are some new visual effects that are not present on the console — like dust particles at 1:04 minutes into the video. However, like any change in appearance, some people may not like the update.

It’s almost certain that Red Dead Redemption on PC will have a lot of mods that will improve the graphics more radically. Such games of the past as Morrowin or Gothic and many others are now hard to perceive in their original form, but mods improve them by replacing textures, models, animations, introducing better lighting and even supporting modern versions of DirectX.
