Xiaomi has unveiled its newest development in the field of electric vehicles – an advanced intelligent chassis packed with the latest technology. It is equipped with an active suspension, a 4-motor system with a total capacity of 2054 horsepower, a 48-volt electromechanical braking system, and a 48-volt steer-by-wire steering system.
The development of this chassis took 3 years, during which advanced control algorithms were combined with the most modern equipment from Bosch. The active suspension system is designed to increase comfort and improve control. Each corner of the chassis has its own 4.6 kW power supply, which allows for real-time damping adjustment. This reduces body roll during cornering, acceleration and braking.
The four-engine setup ensures high performance. The two existing V8 engines are joined by two new engines for a maximum total output of 2054 horsepower. This hints that one day Xiaomi will be able to create a car even faster than SU7 Ultra.
Using the 48-volt electrical architecture previously implemented by Tesla in the Cybertruck, it allows for linear control of brakes and steering. Traditional hydraulic and mechanical connections have been replaced by software control, which provides adaptive steering and braking force ratios. As a result, the vehicle responds more accurately to a variety of driving conditions.
The new chassis technology also contributes to energy efficiency by reducing braking temperatures and increasing the range. It integrates seamlessly into the Xiaomi ecosystem, connecting cars to a variety of smart devices.
It has not yet been announced in which car model Xiaomi will use the new chassis. Given the increased comfort, high power, and better handling, it can be used to create luxury high-end and sports electric vehicles.
