The game of the year for Apple Arcade is the card game Balatro.
Apple announced the winners annual App Store Awards 2024, recognizing 17 best apps and games out of 45 finalists.
Among the apps of the year, the company recognized Kino for iPhone, a program that offers filters and tools for video shooting. Moises, an artificial intelligence app for musicians, won on the iPad. Adobe Lightroom was named the best on the Mac platform, and Apple Vision Pro was recognized for its immersive storytelling app What If?
In the games category, AFK Journey, a tactical adventure, won on iPhone, and Squad Busters, a multiplayer game, won for iPad. On Mac, Thank Goodness You’re Here! was recognized as the best game, and for Apple Vision Pro — THRASHER: Arcade Odyssey. The game of the year in Apple Arcade is the card game Balatro.
