The last month of spring will be rich in a variety of game genres: sports simulators, horror, cat simulators, fighting games, and several long-awaited ports. However, strategy fans will be especially pleased. We will tell you about the most interesting new releases in our selection of May game releases.

Ukrainian games
Traditionally, we will recall the games released by Ukrainian developers over the past month. At the beginning of April, in EGS came out Adventures of Astronaut Max. An isometric role-playing game with turn-based combat. Astronaut Max goes through several adventures full of danger and struggle for life. The game has full Ukrainian localization, including voice acting.
Twenty-second: Stories of Underground Kharkiv — quest and a visual novel about a history teacher hiding in the Kharkiv Metro during the bombing of the city. All proceeds from the game will be donated to the needs of the «Kraken» unit.
In Steam came out Dragon Ruins from the authors of last year’s Demon Lord Reincarnation. Dragon Ruins is a classic «dungeon crawler» which the developers themselves characterize as a «microgame for the tired». Four heroes unite to slay a dragon. There are eight classes available in the game, battles are automatic, but to successfully complete the main quest, the heroes need to be pumped and dressed.
MotoGP 24

A new edition of the annual motorcycle racing series. In addition to racing in the traditional MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 categories, MotoGP 24 will offer an innovative rider marketplace. Riders can now be transferred between teams — make rotations to make the competition truly unexpected. In addition, a new LiveGP championship will be waiting for players every month.
Endless Ocean Luminous

An adventure simulator about exploring the depths of the world’s oceans. The game has more than 500 species of marine creatures, including mythical or extinct ones, such as the mosasaurus. In addition to fish, you will have to explore sunken temples and ships. To make the exploration of underwater space a little more unique every time, the game has a random generation of depths during each dive. And most importantly, you can conduct research with a group of up to 30 participants at a time.
The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication

It’s basically a cat simulator where you have to do the usual cat things: catch birds, unwind toilet paper, throw objects off the table, get tangled up in people’s legs, sit on the keyboard, and many other interesting and not so useful things. The game is available in GamePass.
Homeworld 3

After several postponements, the long-awaited space strategy game Homeworld 3 is finally coming to players. The game is a direct sequel to Homeworld 2, which was released back in 2003. The galaxy is in peace and prosperity, but a new threat is on the horizon. In addition to the story campaign, the game will feature a separate cooperative roguelike mode for three players and classic PvP. The game will have support for fan modifications from the release.
The developers also announced the «First Year» season, which will include both free new content and paid DLC. Owners of the most expensive edition of the game will be able to start playing three days earlier.
The Rogue Prince of Persia

This year, the Prince of Persia series is experiencing a small revival, returning to the roots of the original games. The Rogue Prince of Persia is a roguelike where the Prince will have to recapture Persia from the hands of the Huns, who have succumbed to the influence of dark shamanic magic. The game will retain all the main elements of the series, namely parkour, combat system, and games over time, but will develop gradually while in early access. The game is being developed by Evil Empire, who were responsible for the support and development of Dead Cells.
Men of War 2

Men of War 2 is a real-time strategy game set behind the scenes of World War II. Three storyline campaigns, detailed recreation of battlefield landscapes and equipment. The game allows the player to direct the development of historical military operations such as «Overlord». The game is developed by the Ukrainian studio BestWay and published by FulqrumGames, which previously belonged to 1C and since 2022 to the Chinese Tencent. Songs of Conquest

A turn-based strategy game and a true successor to Heroes of the Sword and Magic. A classic turn-based strategy game that blends role-playing, armed combat, and land management. Build powerful armies, use ancient magic, and conquer remote lands to create an empire that will be sung for years to come. Songs of Conquest has been in early access for a long time, but has already managed to collect 87% positive reviews on Steam.

Synergy

Synergy is an urban planning strategy in which humanity will have to survive on an alien and hostile planet. To do this, we will have to explore the world, analyze and experiment with the resources we find. At the same time, we should not forget about the biological and cultural needs of citizens.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

Several years have passed since the events of the first part. Senua surrenders in order to get to Iceland to fight the Vikings who enslaved her people. The sequel will develop the combat system, but will remain focused on the story component.

MultiVersus

The fighting game featuring Warner Bros./DC characters is back with a full release. During beta testing, the game received generally positive feedback, which is rare for «Super Smash Bros.» clones. At the start, 23 characters will be available, including Batman, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark, Shaggy, and others. The game can be played in 2vs2, 1vs1, or each player for themselves up to four players.
Nine Sols
Genre: Adventure, Action

Nine Sols is a 2D platformer set in an oriental setting and featuring a combat system inspired by Sekiro. The hero has to kill nine formidable rulers to liberate the kingdom.
Also, on May 16, the long-awaited port of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut.
