The most interesting new series of March 2024

In March, three high-profile premieres are scheduled for release at once, and they are included in our list the most anticipated series of 2024. These include the political satire “The Regime” with Kate Winslet, the spinoff “Gentlemen” by Guy Ritchie, and the film adaptation of Liu Qixin’s novel “3 Body Problem”. But there are also other projects to pay attention to: for example, the sequel to the cult animated series “X-Men” or the story of the hunt for Abraham Lincoln’s assassin. The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin

The series will tell the story of a famous English robber and burglar Dick Turpin but will do so from the perspective of comedic fiction rather than the usual biographical narrative. The title role is played by English actor and comedian Noel Fielding.

The events take place in England in the early seventeenth century, when the powerful Mary Villiers tries to make her son George the favorite of King James VI and I. The plot of the series is based on the popular science book The King’s Assassin by Benjamin Woolley, which appeared on bookstore shelves in 2017.

Supersex

The plot of the biographical drama Supersex is based on the life story of the famous Italian porn actor Rocco Siffredi, who became one of the most influential figures in the adult industry.

The Gentleman

A young man named Eddie Halstead inherited a large estate from his father. But later, the hero learns that this property is directly connected to the drug empire of Mickey Pearson.

The Gentlemen is a spinoff of the film of the same name by Guy Ritchie, who returned to writing, this time co-writing and directing with Matthew Reed. The project stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario.

The Signal

During a mission in space, an astronaut mysteriously disappears. Her distraught husband tries his best to find out what happened to his wife, while raising their daughter on his own.

Apples Never Fall

Genre: mystical drama
Premiere date: March 14
Release: Peacock

Former tennis coaches Joy and Stan Delaney seem to be a well-off married couple who have raised four children and now, after selling their tennis academy, can finally enjoy retirement. Everything changes when Joy suddenly disappears.

The plot of this mystery show is based on the novel of the same name by Australian writer Liane Moriarty, and the main roles are played by Annette Bening and Sam Neill.

Manhunt

Genre: conspiracy thriller
Premiere date: March 15
Release: Apple TV+

After Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, his friend and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton launches a manhunt for John Wilkes Booth. The story is based on the book Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer by James L. Swanson, published in 2007. For this book, the author received the Edgar Allan Poe.

X-Men ’97

Genre: animated superhero action

Release: Disney+

The sequel to the hugely successful American-Canadian animated series X-Men, which ran from 1992 to 1997. The story will pick up where the original show left off. The main characters will have to face new challenges after the death of their leader — Professor X.

Palm Royale

Release: Apple TV+

Determined Maxim Simmons is trying to get into the highest circles of Palm Beach, and during her mission, she discovers what she is and is not willing to do to achieve her goal. The new comedy series starring Kristen Wiig is based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel Mr. and Mrs. American Pie.

3 Body Problem

Once upon a time, a female astrophysicist, Ye Wenjie, was involved in the secret military project «Red Bank» and secretly sent signals into space. As a result, it makes sense now to prepare for the first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization that risks becoming the greatest threat to all of humanity.

3 Body Problem is based on the science fiction trilogy by Chinese writer Liu Qixin Remembrance of Earth’s Past.

We Were the Lucky Ones

Genre: historical drama

Release: Hulu

During World War II, a family of Polish Jews was separated. After the defeat of the Nazi regime, the survivors try to reunite with their families.

We Were the Lucky Ones — another book adaptation in March, this time by Georgina Gunther.

Parish

Genre: crime drama
Premiere date: March 31
Release: AMC

Gray Parish — is a man with a difficult past who left a life of crime long ago for the sake of his family. But the brutal murder of his son forces Parish to remember his old habits and punish those responsible for his grief.

The plot of the new crime drama from AMC starring Giancarlo Esposito is based on the British series The Driver, which was broadcast on BBC One from September 23 to October 7, 2014.

The Cleaning Lady

Toni De La Rosa once came from Cambodia to the United States to treat her sick son. But one set of circumstances led to her becoming part of the criminal underworld, cleaning up bloody traces at the scenes of massacres.

The Cleaning Lady is an American remake of the Argentine show La Chica Que Limpia, which was released in 2017.

American Rust
