Apple TV+ announced is a new crime drama series — starring Brian Tyree Henry («Atlanta») and directed by Ridley Scott.The series «Dope Thief» is based on the novel of the same name by Dennis Tafoya and tells the story of old criminal friends who pose as DEA agents during an attempted robbery, but unwittingly reveal the workings of a large drug corridor
The showrunner of the series is Peter Craig (producer of «Top Gun: Maverick»), and the executive producer is Ridley Scott (who also directed the first episode)
In addition to Brian Tyree Henry, the cast includes Wagner Moura («Narcos»), Marin Ireland («Umbrella Academy»), Kate Mulgrew («Star Trek: Voyager»), Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames.
The first two episodes of «Dope Thief» will debut on Apple TV+ on March 14, with the remaining eight episodes to be released every Friday until April 25.
