
BioWare has released new information about Dragon Age: The Veilguard, including full technical requirements and pre-loading time for Xbox Series and PS5.
The developers have published system requirements for the PC version, which include settings for playing with ray tracing enabled and disabled.
BioWare also confirmed, that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not feature DRMDRM (Digital Rights Management) is a technology designed to protect digital content from unauthorized copying, distribution, and use. (such as Denuvo) on any platform.
For the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, the game will offer two modes: quality and performance. The former is targeted at 30 frames per second, the latter at 60.
Maciej Kurowski, CTO of BioWare, spoke about improvements for PlayStation 5 Pro, which will be released in November:
«In both Quality and Performance modes, the game will receive hardware improvements, including increased resolution in Quality mode with 30 frames per second and Performance mode with 60 frames per second,» he said. «In addition, both modes will feature a variety of visual enhancements».
Kurowski also added:
«The BioWare team is proud of how deeply players will immerse themselves in the magical world of Thedas with enhanced image quality thanks to Sony’s new AI-powered upscaler — PSSR. We’ve enabled ray tracing for global shading (RTAO) in 60fps performance mode. Previously, this feature was only available on the base PlayStation 5 in 30fps quality mode».
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will launch on October 14 on Xbox Series X/S and October 29 on PS5. There is no pre-load for PC due to the lack of DRM.
As a reminder, the developers have recently announced that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature five levels of difficulty.
