Microsoft, OpenAI, and Google have announced major updates to their AI tools — they are now more widely available.
The tech giants have expanded voice communication, deep analysis, and programming capabilities in the latest updates. The changes affected Copilot Pro, ChatGPT, and Gemini Code Assist, although they have their own nuances. Let’s take a closer look at what the companies have prepared for users.
Microsoft в Copilot Pro has made premium features free and unlimited for everyone. In particular, Copilot Voice (natural voice communication with AI) and Copilot Think Deeper (understanding complex issues and analyzing the situation in more detail) are now available. Both functions are based on OpenAI GPT-4o. However, during peak loads, priority access will be reserved for Copilot subscribers.
The limit does not exist. That’s right — starting today, we’re rolling out even more powerful capabilities to all users with free, unlimited access to Voice and Think Deeper.

The opening of Copilot Pro’s premium features was a direct challenge to OpenAI. After all, similar features in ChatGPT are available only to Plus subscribers for $20 per month. By the way, OpenAI does not stand still — the company gives free Advanced Voice Mode for voice mode in ChatGPT but with limitations. The feature, based on the GPT-4o mini, allows for natural voice dialogs.
However, there is a nuance: OpenAI introduced limits — if the user reaches the set limit, the chat will automatically end. Also, the voice mode received support for five new voices, the overall speed of conversation, and accents in supported foreign languages. Although OpenAI has expanded access to technology, it has not been as generous as Microsoft.
Starting today, we’re rolling out a version of Advanced Voice powered by GPT-4o mini to give all ChatGPT free users a chance to preview it daily across platforms.
The natural conversation pace and tone are similar to the GPT-4o version while being more cost effective to serve.

Meanwhile, Google has a big update for developers Gemini Code Assist is now available to everyone for free, but was previously a paid corporate product. The company has set a limit of 180,000 code requests per month, which is actually quite generous, but not enough for those who actively program.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai claims that the proposed request limit is 90 times higher than that of its competitors. For comparison, Microsoft set a limit of 2,000 requests per month for GitHub Copilot. Gemini Code Assist supports integration with popular IDEs such as Visual Studio and Firebase. The feature uses the powerful Gemini 2.0 language model for code analysis.
