HMD has picked up on the idea of producing «boring» phones with limited social features that Heineken and Bodega recently proposed. But if then it was a limited edition clamshell phone called The Boring Phone, now HMD has several offerings for the mass retail market.
The company has introduced the simple Nokia 215 4G, Nokia 225 4G and Nokia 235 4G phones, which it is positioning as «fun». Despite the name change from «boring» to «fun», the overall concept hasn’t changed much. These phones are supposed to be the perfect companion for digital disconnection during leisure time ─ «switch to digital detox». At the same time, in Africa, India, the Middle East, and some countries in Asia Pacific, these phones will have cloud-based applications that provide access to smart features, including news, weather, and YouTube Shorts.
The new handsets are pocket push-button phones with adaptive functionality.
«Some people may use their phone to disconnect and tune in to living in the moment. Others will do the opposite – they will «cloud» and use it to connect to the Internet for business, education and entertainment»,” says Adam Ferguson, Head of Research, Offerings and Product Marketing at HMD.
The Nokia 225 4G offers a 2.4-inch LCD display, a 0.3-megapixel camera with flash, and Bluetooth. The 1450 mAh battery provides up to 9.8 hours of talk time. This model will be available in dark blue color. The Nokia 235 4G offers all the same features as the Nokia 225 4G, but users have access to a slightly larger 2.8-inch screen and a 2-megapixel rear camera. This model will be available in two colors: magenta and black. The Nokia 215 4G is a multifunctional phone with a rugged body. It is available in peach and black colors. All three devices have a «Snake» game.
The new Nokia 215 4G, Nokia 225 4G and Nokia 235 4G mobile phones will go on sale in Ukraine in May.
