Tax authorities are massively checking online sellers: almost UAH 50 million in fines in a month – Hetmantsev

The State Tax Service (STS) is tightening its control over online sales, including conducting test purchases and fining those who do not issue cash receipts. This was reported in the Telegram channel reported Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy («Servant of the People») Danylo Hetmantsev.

The MP emphasized that in 2024, the tax authorities made 7,221 control purchases via the Internet. The total amount of accrued fines amounted to UAH 106.6 million. At the same time, the tax authorities were especially active in November, as almost half of this amount falls on the last month of autumn.

«I would like to draw special attention to those who, despite the obvious danger, continue to sell goods on the Internet without registration or avoiding issuing a receipt, to the fact that in 2024, 7221 control purchases were made online. Fines in the amount of UAH 106.6 million were charged, including UAH 47.3 million in November»,” Hetmantsev said.

At the same time, he emphasized that the volume of legal trade continues to grow and has already exceeded UAH 100 billion.

«Legal trade has increased by 34.1% since the beginning of the year, amounting to UAH 105.6 billion. At the same time, in November, the volume of settlement transactions increased by 5.2% compared to October, reaching UAH 415.9 billion (UAH 310.24 billion in January). The daily amount of settlement transactions grew from UAH 10 billion in January to UAH 13.9 billion in November,” Hetmantsev said.

Also, according to Hetmantsev, from January to November, the tax authorities conducted 32.3 thousand actual inspections of taxpayers. As a result, more than UAH 270 million was paid to the budget.
