Ukrainian shooter La Quimera gets 19 minutes of gameplay — exosuits, gadgets, and combat hubs

Closed beta testing of the Ukrainian shooter La Quimera has revealed the latest version of the game, which is due to be released in a few days.

YouTube channel Punish shared a video where he spent 19 minutes testing a new project from the Reburn studio, which includes former members of the Metro: Exodus team. The user showed how the game looks and works.

La Quimera is a story-driven first-person sci-fi shooter on Unreal Engine 4. Its beta took place on April 19-20, and it showed several key mechanics. The player starts the session from the hub where he launches missions. The demo showed a turn-based battle in open arenas with shelters, as well as story dialogues, voice prompts, etc. The destruction of enemies and bosses gives experience, so we can expect a campaign with a leveling up.

One of the main features of La Quimera is exosuits. These are combat suits that have access to gadgets and superhuman capabilities. The video shows jumps, powerful punches, fast movement, and changes in tactics depending on the situation. So these suits affect the very dynamics of combat.

The graphics on Unreal Engine 4 look quite clear, although without ray tracing. However, given that the game still doesn’t even have system requirements, technical details remain in question release date on Steam — April 25, but page of the game does not yet contain a price, an exact date, or information about localization. It is also not confirmed whether it will be a full release or early access.

Pre-orders are not open either. This may indicate a possible delay — although there have been no official statements yet. However, if the developers don’t postpone the release, it will be clear in a few days what happened.
