An Indian gamer who ordered a PlayStation 5 on Amazon discovered that after payment and delivery of the parcel, he received something else — instead of a PS5, he received a PS4 box with a PS3 inside.
«I ordered a PS5 (slim) from Amazon in early January and received a package 2 days later — a shabby box with a production date of November 2023. I immediately contacted customer service to arrange a return. And when the courier arrived, we opened it for the first time and saw that there was an old PS3 inside, instead of the paid PS5», — the gamer complains in a post on Reddit.
He went on to say that the box was picked up, but no refund was issued, explaining his refusal by saying that «had sent the correct product to»:
«I provided them with photos taken on the day the parcel was received, as well as photos from the moment it was opened with the courier», — the player adds.
Many in the comments sincerely sympathize with the gamer and advise him to contact the national consumer protection service. While others point to his miscalculation in purchasing the goods from a third-party buyer and sending money in advance, as well as inattention when receiving the parcel (to which the author of the post replied that the PS4 box was initially closed with other packaging with controllers and games and provided a screenshot from surveillance cameras of the courier in the corridor holding two boxes in his hands on the day the parcel was delivered).
Some people also joked in the comments that these were probably not all the open surprises in the package, and the PS3 could have had «the insides» a PS2 and a PS1 controller inside.

In yesterday’s post update, the user shared a letter from Amazon, in which he was eventually promised a refund within 5-7 days (55,000 rupees, which is about $430).
