A gamer queued up for Switch 2 two months before the release — he lives under a Nintendo store

While some are waiting for the Nintendo Switch 2 — some are surviving in line outside the store two months before the release.

If you think that the most rabid fans will pre-order online and confirm it, then no — they sit outside the store from morning to night. Although there’s no point in physically standing in line now, YouTuber ChickenDog decided to create a reason to live for the next two months.

ChickenDog settled down outside the New York Nintendo store and declared himself the first in line for the new console. According to him, he will be in the store almost constantly, despite the cold weather — 7°C on April 8.

«First in line for the Nintendo Switch 2 gonna be camping out for 2 months can’t wait to see what happens throughout my journey!» — posted by him on X.

It may seem like ChickenDog turned homeless for fun, but he has an Airbnb and a hotel somewhere nearby. So he’s not really going to live on the sidewalk for two months without a break. He has a whole team of friends who help him with his camp, watch his place when he disappears to edit or just goes to warm up.

At the moment, he is — the only one in this «queue». There are no other people willing to stand in the cold for the sake of the console. The YouTuber is chasing the hype, as he recently officially announced Switch 2 and introduced Mario Kart World for some sky-high €80. Instead, most fans are still sitting at home and waiting for online pre-orders.

It all looks like a funny YouTube performance, but he has a chance to become a new mini-legend (or at least a meme) among Nintendo fans. At least he will definitely be the first on June 5, when others will try to update the store’s website, if he doesn’t forget about his challenge when the hype dies down.
