Blogger Proxy Game Tactician combined several modifications for the role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 to add a first-person view. This allowed him to explore the fantasy world created by Larian Studio in more detail.
Despite the fact that Baldur’s Gate 3 is an isometric game, the developers paid considerable attention to the detail of locations that is difficult to notice during a normal passage.
«Despite being an isometric game, the developers have put an incredible amount of detail into every corner of the world. So much so that you simply cannot see it all with the game’s standard camera. That’s why in this video, I modified the game so that the camera was fixed in the first person and tried to go through the battles and exploration in Baldur’s Gate 3 playing only with the first person view», — wrote Proxy Game Tactician.
It is quite possible to complete the game in this form, although not without problems. For example, the companion Lae’zel was not very useful in the battle in Avernus due to camera limitations. Nevertheless, the blogger was generally satisfied with the experiment. As Proxy explained at the end of the video, his first-person mode is actually a combination of almost ten mods:
- Norbyte’s Baldur’s Gate 3 Script Extender
- Native Mod Loader
- Native Camera Tweaks
- WASD Character Movement
- Remove Camera Move
- Choose your size
- ImpUI
- Better Maps All-In-One
- Basket Full of Equipment. SFW version
The head of Larian Studios, Sven Winke, drew attention to the video on the day of its release. The head of wrote, who also wanted to «play this game».
As a reminder, after release of the seventh patch For Baldur’s Gate 3, developers from Larian Studios opened access to the official modding toolkit. Modders quickly got around all the restrictions and started creating what they had long dreamed of — your cards.
