Amazon has updated its website alexa.com and the Alexa mobile app so that Alexa+ subscribers can use the new, advanced AI-powered voice assistant.

During the event, Amazon demonstrated how Alexa+ will allow you to have natural conversations for tasks such as ordering groceries, controlling smart home devices, scheduling appointments, helping you learn, and more. The assistant will also be able to tell you if someone has walked your dog by viewing your home camera footage.

At the same time, it was shown that Alexa+ will be able to analyze and summarize documents, and it is likely that the new website and app will allow you to upload these documents for processing.

The assistant will gradually develop and learn by analyzing queries. Over time, it will be able to better understand user habits (favorite entertainment, food preferences, etc.) and become more personalized.

According to Amazon representative Devon Corvase, Alexa+ will not require downloading a separate app — the AI assistant will be available in the existing Alexa app.

The new Alexa+ assistant will first be launched in the US «in the coming weeks». Then it will be gradually rolled out to other countries «in the following months».

Alexa+ subscriptions will cost $19.99 per month, or you can get access as part of your Amazon Prime subscription at no additional cost.

In addition to the app, the new AI assistant will also be available to device owners Echo Show 8, 10, 15 and 21.
