Anthropic has introduced a new feature for customizing communication style in its Claude AI chatbot.
The update allows users to control how artificial intelligence responds to different queries by choosing ready-made templates or creating their own communication styles. This feature is now available to all Claude AI users.
The developers have implemented three standard styles: Formal for creating polished texts, Concise for concise and clear answers, and Explanatory for educational materials with additional details. Each style is adapted to specific needs, from writing technical documentation to business correspondence.
To create a personalized style, users need to upload samples of the desired format and provide instructions to the chatbot on how to reproduce the writing style. There are several such styles available.
«Sometimes you need in-depth explanations to learn new material, and sometimes you need quick answers when you’re in a hurry,» explains Claude’s product manager Scott White. — You may prefer a formal style in some contexts or a friendly tone in others. What’s great is that now you just need to set your preferences once, so that every interaction is tailored to your needs».
Similar features have already been implemented by Claude AI’s competitors — ChatGPT by OpenAI and Gemini by Googlewhich can quickly change the tone and detail of Gmail drafts. Apple Intelligence’s Writing Tools also offers similar style settings.
