There were many interesting things at the BAFTA Games Awards 20205, but the main star of the evening was Astro Bot. Yes, this platformer once again outscored the year’s top hits.
Team Asobi’s Astro Bot collected five awards, including the most important one — «Best Game». In addition to the main award, the platformer won in the following four categories: «Animation», «Game Design», «Family Game», and «Audio Achievement».
And it seemed like the competition was fierce — Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Helldivers 2, the new Zelda (Echoes of Wisdom), and Thank Goodness You’re Here! But other participants did not leave empty-handed.
The card game Balatro became a hit and received the «Debut Game» award. Helldivers 2 took home two statuettes — for «Multiplayer Game» and «Music». Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, much to our surprise, took only one award — «Technical Achievement». This is surprising because The game had the most nominations at this year’s BAFTAs
